Hubby's Bday 30th June2010

Happy Bday My Charming Prince. You turn 50 this year. BUT always charm and handsome and stick in my heart.


Bake this 3 cakes - 2 red velvet and 1 chocolate cake. 2 cakes were sent to his office (red velvet and chocolate) and the balance 1(red velvet) for small celebrating in the house.




Spend almost the whole day from morning till 3pm baking, steaming and decorating the cakes. And finally managed to send to him by 3.30pm. Tiring but satisfaction is there when the cakes turned marverlous. Thumbs up to my first trial red velvet cake (square and round) Though the color didn't turn up right - not reddish...probably need to reduce the cocoa and add more red colouring.


But the end was happy when the cakes finished and got order for raya...
Had a small gathering by niece and nephews and grandson.


Ni siapa punya birthday niiii.....sibuk betul cucu kami ni...dia pun nak potong kek juga...



I baked, let people taste...and here comes the orders... Thanks Allah in opening the pintu rezeki for me...

Bahan-bahan:
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup gula kastor
2 biji telur
2 cup tepung (saya guna tepung yg RM1.35 tu je...)
240ml buttermilk (buat sendiri - 240ml susu segar + 1 sudu cuka biasa dan biarkan selama 10min)
* saya beli buttermilk serbuk 50g - ambil 25g, campur dengan 1 cwn air biasa + 2 sudu besar cuka
biarkan selama 10 minit.
2 penutup pewarna merah - tak cukup merah rupanya, mungkin brand tak sama, kena bubuh ke 4 penutup
1 penutup esen vanilla
2 sudu penuh serbuk koko - saya sukat membukit...jadi kena kurangkan bukit tu
1 tbs serbuk penaik
1 tbs bikarbonat


Cara : Pukul gula + butter sampai kembang, masukkan telur - pukul lagi sampai kembang.
Kemudian, masukkan semua bahan seperti tepung, serbuk penaik dan bikarbonat, serbuk koko, pewarna merah & vanilla. Pukul rata sambil masukkan buttermilk sedikit demi sedikit.
Tuangkan dalam loyang dan bakar pada suhu 160°c sampai masak (lebih kurang 45min).


Topping Cream Cheese:

250g cream cheese (saya pakai Tatura)
2 sudu butter
3/4 cup gula kastor

Cara : campur semua dan pukul sehingga kembang. Sedia untuk dilepa pada Red Velvet kek anda.

Result: Sedap. dpt pujian, lembut... ngam dengan topping cheese kat atas...
Panduan: Warna tak lah jadi warna velvet merah...mungkin sebab koko lebih atau pewarna (brand tak sama) merah kurang... so kena main2 dgn adunan warna koko dan merah...untuk mendapatkan warna red velvet yang ngam...
